Just the beginning... February 2014

If someone had told me just 6 months ago that I would now be working in the health, nutrition and wellness industry and that it would be most likely that I would be giving up my successful sewing business I would have thought they were completely crackers!!!

I discovered Forever Living Products in November 2013 via my now mentor, Deenna.  I thought she was mad and spent some time wondering why on earth she was taking this huge change of career.  At the end of January 2014, Deenna asked if I wanted to have a catch up over coffee and so she could tell me a little more about Forever Living, the type of company that it is and some more information about the products.

I agreed... but I never imagined walking away self employed, having registered for my business in a box!!!

My background is in law.  I had been a Legal Assistant for 10 years which I absolutely loved but I was made redundant in October 2013.  I felt OK about this unfortunate position I found myself in as I had already been building up my busy sewing business for 2 years where I am a textile artist and sewing tutor and this was my chance to give this business my full attention.

However, a few months in, I realised that whilst the sewing business paid my bills and I was loving what I was doing, it was never going to make me huge amounts of money to live the life I have always dreamt of.  I sat down for hours at a time working out statistics, what changes I could make to improve the business along with a whole host of other things but when it really came down to it, it just meant I would be working even longer hours for not much more in return.  I am married to Paul and have two young children, James who is 6 and William who is 3 and I just want to spend more time with them, not working every minute of every day.

Feeling dead on my feet from sewing morning, noon and night I was open to suggestions, despite being very sceptical at first.

My amazing mentor took me through a short business presentation over coffee and by the end I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.  I decided to come on board this business because of these two products...

My dad has suffered mobility issues for many years and I was told that these products may help relieve some of his discomfort.  I thought that anything was worth a try to make him feel well again and decided that if I could purchase them wholesale as a result of coming on board then it would be worth it.  So, my journey with Forever started in February 2014.

However, one week in and the products were actually working.  Goodbye prescription drugs, hello Forever!!

This greatly improved my confidence in the products and as a result started building a small customer base.  Very very quickly I realised the potential this business has, so I decided to set a planning date with my mentor and map out the next few months on this new journey.  And wow, this was mind blowing stuff.  Knowing I only have to work this simple business for a few years and I'll then be earning a six figure income and will be able to retire - in my 30's is something that is phenomenal!!

I learnt very quickly just how much fun this business is.  There are so many fantastic people in this business and the company are incredibly supportive and rewarding for the work you do.  It gives me huge satisfaction knowing I can now help others feel well and look great using our amazing products - there are products for absolutely everyone - humans, animals, the home, personal care, weight management, cosmetics, supplements, you name it, we got it!

In my first month I signed my first two team members, Louise and Mandy. To help others build a successful business is a wonderful feeling.

I have decided to keep a blog of my journey.  I will be telling you lots about what goes on behind the scenes, lots of pictures, plans, information about products and when I am recruiting.  It's going to be one heck of a journey and it would be wonderful to have your support.
